Roof Defence is a protective coating designed to seal and protect surfaces, but it is not a dedicated waterproofing membrane. Existing leaks or structural issues should be repaired before application.
How much Roof Defence do I need?
Roof Defence covers a minimum of 6–8 m² per litre per coat depending on surface porosity and condition. A minimum of 2 coats is required, so factor in at least 2 litres per 6–8 m² of roof area. Additional coats may be needed on heavily weathered or highly textured surfaces.
Can Roof Defence be used on a garage roof?
Yes. Roof Defence is suitable for garage roofs made from Colorbond, galvanised iron, concrete and previously painted surfaces. Ensure the surface is clean, dry and free of rust, loose paint and contaminants before application.
Is a primer needed before applying Roof Defence?
On most sound, prepared surfaces no separate primer is required. For severely deteriorated or highly porous surfaces, apply a priming coat of Roof Defence diluted 50/50 with water. Rusted metal surfaces should be spot primed with an appropriate metal primer before coating.
What colours is Roof Defence available in?
Roof Defence is available in Dark Grey and Terracotta. Note: it is not recommended to apply Roof Defence over surfaces previously painted in light colours.
